Have not listened to 9/18/87 in a few years...I can still hear the 1st notes of GDTRFB......etched in my memory.

I like some of the early Dews.....2FTV has a good one.

I'll even revise to say post drums. The space at this show is very good. This was before the midi and they actually "play" some interesting stuff that leads into that great GDRFB

No, I was 16(taking Driver's Training while listening to Ollie North's testimony during Iran-Contra) and in California. 9/18/87 was one of my 1st tapes.....a sparkling SBD. Though I was not there, I have a warm feeling in regards to this show.

I recall during the space my pal Pete looking at me and saying "Technology for $1000 Alex". We were so sky high that night - ended up at the now departed Lone Star in the wee hours for an Ahmad Jamal trio performance, think benefiting homeless, that Margot Kidder was at raising money. Pretty bizarre blazing looking into Lois Lane's eyes and then locking into Ahmad's (he and McCoy Tyner are beyond words....) Same time period was Jerry at Lunt-Fontane. In the words of SNL NPR parody, "good times".

I just googled Ahmad to see if my memory was correct - says he and Stanley Jordan were at Lone Star next night, so that means there was also show on the 20th - I don't recall that one at all but know I was there due to the same. All melts into a dream....

I recall my buddy Jake turning to me during a midi-ful 89 Terrapin and saying, "I didn't know they could do this! Is this legal!?"

THANK YOU!
